There are a few feeding practices that parents and caregivers have that can lead to infant obesity.
One problem is that they do not discontinue feeding when the infant becomes disinterested which can intere with the infants ability to self- regulate.
Many parents in effort to eliminate or cut down of the number of night feedings add ceral to the infants bottle before the child is at an age where they can digest solid food.

Another issue with infant obesity could be medication. Some children take medications that cause them to eat and become heavier than normal.
ReplyDeleteTable food can also lead to infant obesity. Many parents and caregivers often give babies food from their own plates. This practice causes them to take in too many calories that cannot be burned off because it's usually the cake or buttery mashed potatoes that are shared.
